This policy covers both the City Ladder website and the City Ladder iOS app. The website uses cookies for anonymous analytics; the iOS app doesn't โ it makes no network requests at all. Neither stores personal data, and there are no accounts or sign-ups anywhere.
The City Ladder iOS app makes no network requests of any kind โ no analytics, no ads, no tracking, nothing sent anywhere, ever. The only data it touches is stored locally on your device using iOS's standard app-storage APIs: your theme and difficulty preferences, your game stats (longest ladder, win streak), and your current in-progress game, so you can pick up where you left off after closing the app. None of this leaves your device, and we have no way to see it, sell it, or share it with anyone.
On cityladder.xyz (browser play only โ this does not apply to the iOS app, see above), we use PostHog (hosted on servers in the EU) to understand how the game is used โ for example, how many games are started and finished. This may set cookies or use your browser's local storage to tell repeat visits apart. The data is aggregate and anonymous; we do not create user profiles and we do not try to identify you.
On the website: your theme preference, your game stats (longest ladder, win streak), and this cookie notice's dismissal are stored only in your browser's local storage. On the iOS app: see "The iOS app" above. Either way, this data never leaves your device and we can't see it.

We may update this notice as the game evolves; the date above will change.
